I love the weight and feel of this product. The fur is sooo soft and the way it lays provides the perfect calming sensation. The softness deteriorated a bit when washed but its still great.
First off, Im still shocked at how soft this thing is! I didnt expect quality like this from Amazon. Second, Im looking at buying one for myself I love it that much lol but I might get a different animal (the sloth or the bear) to keep things less confusing. I find myself sneaking the cat whenever the kids arent playing with it because draping the weighted cat over my chest is so so calming, reduces anxiety, and it even holds warmth under it from your body for a while. My 7 yr old sleeps with it on her chest every night. This is perfect for autistic people in general or anyone with sensory issues who likes deep pressure. (The cat isnt too heavy by any means. Id say its just right. The weighted part is in its body, arms, and legs. The head and tail arent weighted.)
When this arrived, I couldnt wait to feel it to see how soft it was. I was worried that it would feel like a cheap kids toy that looks soft but has a rough, stiff feel to the fur. Oh. My. Goodness!! I was shocked at how soft the fur on this cat is!! It made me think of feeling real fur. It is so soft that it is easy to wonder if you are really even touching it. The cat also has a nice weight to it. It is comforting to have it lying on my lap, but even cradling it in my arms is comforting to me.
I (reluctantly) have it sitting as a new addition to the calming corner in my office. I am reluctant because, as much as I love the idea of students being able to appreciate the comfort of it, I dont relish the idea of them possibly getting it dirty or germy. As I look at the possibility of getting another one for the house, I am seeing what a great deal this cat is, too. Other animals I am seeing out there are much more expensive.
My daughter loves this weighted cat. Cat is so soft, a great weighted lap stuffed animal. For the money, its well made, incredibly durable, and a large size. We did not notice any odd smell upon opening the cat.
My gray cat passed away yesterday and I bought this for comfort. It has been so comforting, my cat would lay on me nightly and with this I feel like hes still here. The weight isnt as heavy as him but it works perfectly. If mine ever becomes damaged Ill definitely repurchase. Thank you
