Sloths move slowly but you will fall in love with the Odoxia sloth buddy lap pad quickly. It is incredibly soft and very huggable. Compared to some other weighted plush toys Ive looked at, this one is unique in that the weights shift with each movement, like a bean bag, instead of being fixed in one place. This gives the sloth buddy the feel of movement - - and likely why it feels so huggable. The fact that he is washable is a huge plus. Everything about it is well done and the zipper opens and closes easily. I recommend the sloth :-)
Weighted blankets and weighted vests can provide calming comfort to children with special needs. I ordered this to use on the school bus, with a student who has difficulty staying in their seat and wants to roam the bus while its in motion. Getting to sit with the weighted lap sloth is a great incentive to stay seated, and provides comfort as well. It works!
There is a zipper so the weighted part can be removed when you just need a light lap blanket, or for washing. The weighted insert stays in place with multiple tie-downs inside.
If you wash the cover, air dry only, to preserve the softness of the plush fur.
